#EduFootyAid: How to get involved

The Striker Boy Campaign, in partnership with Mr P ICT and Animate2Educate are proud to bring you #EduFootyAid! As you probably guessed, it’s the educational community’s version of #SoccerAid.

This one-day event will see teams of teachers, educational suppliers, and hopefully a couple  of celebs, compete for a tiny trophy and a HUGE amount of bragging rights. We hope to turn this into an annual event which becomes a key fixture in the calendar. Our chosen charity this year is Mind, and we will also be supporting the bereaved family of former primary school teacher Jonny Zucker, who tragically took his own life just over a year ago.

#EduFootyAid isn’t just for the players! The event will have a summer fete vibe, with face painting, raffles, games and refreshments all on hand to make it a fun family day out. We are still sorting out many of the little details… like where and when it’s taking place! But it’s likely to be in north England during October, and here’s how you can get involved:

Want to host?

We are in need of a venue in the north of England. Ideally it needs at least two full sized pitches, a changing room and some space around the pitches for stalls and spectators. A sports centre or secondary school would be ideal. If you’re up for hosting then please contact

Want to play?

Our teams are mixed gender and mixed ability, any and all over the age of 18 are welcome to play. The only rule is that you need to be in someway involved in the educational community. You don’t need to bring a team as we will organise people into teams for the day. So if you’re interested just email your name and location to It costs £50 to play which you can either pay yourself or raise in sponsorship. From that £50, half is donated to Mind and half will be donated to the bereaved family of former primary school teacher Jonny Zucker.

Want to help with the organisation or stalls?

We’ll need lots of help turning this event into a fantastic family experience, so if you’d like to be involved but don’t fancy yourself as a footballer join the crew. Just drop an email to with your name, location, and any special skills you possess!

Want to come and watch?

#EduFootyAid promises to be a fun family day out suitable for children and adults of all ages. So whether you’re coming to cheer on a friend or just enjoy a hot-dog and laugh at teachers falling over, we’d love to see you down there! Email the word ‘watch’ to and we’ll put you on the mailing list meaning you’ll get notified when the venue and dates have been confirmed. The more people come and watch the better the atmosphere will be, so we really hope you can join us and make it a day to remember.

Be a sponsor

Everybody knows that football isn’t really about athleticism or fun, it’s about money and sponsorship, and we have some truly amazing sponsorship opportunities:

  • For a mere £600 million we’ll build a stadium for the event and name it after you.
  • Or for a meagre £300 million all the players will change their names by deed-poll to whatever you want!

On a serious note, a little bit of sponsorship for things like kits, travel and half-time oranges would be greatly appreciated, and we’ll do our best to rep your brand on the day. If you’re interested in being a sponsor please email
